What's on my playlist?

I've gotta pay homage to Radio 1xtra aka the best station ever! I listen to them everyday and if it wasn't for them I wouldn't have the following songs on repeat!

Katy B - Light as a feather

Duke Dumont ft AME & MNEK - Need U

Disclosure ft Aluna George - White Noise

Bondax - Gold

Jakwob ft Maiday - Fade

Slacking!

Hiya guys, I know I've been abandoning my blog but I've been super busy lately with work and uni! I'm putting together a new fashion and music magazine for my final year project. I wanted to focus on upcoming talent in the UK and I managed to bag an interview with The Du'Montts (Millie and Hope Katana) aka the terrible twins Shona and Rhona from Waterloo Road. These gorgeous sisters are definitely ones to watch this year, they're fresh, edgy and different. Absolutely talented!

Have a listen to their cover of Kevin Michaels We all want the same things!

As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I've put myself on a shopping ban. It's been 3 weeks so far and this has got to be the longest i've ever gone without shopping! It's easier than i thought....that is until i go into work at lust over all the new arrivals! (that's what you get when you work in H&M)..I've seen so many things I just wanna grab and buy but im resisting temptation :-)

Oh...and i've finally bought my Jillian Michaels 30-day shred dvd (woohoo bring on the weight loss) I've heard so many good reviews on it, so I'll update you guys once i've started it.

How can you not appreciate House music?

You either love it or you hate it and I'd say it's just like marmite. House music is becoming infectious and hopefully one day it'll take over the music scene and everybody will be cutting shapes! The laid back sounds leave you in your own zone and the meaninful lyrics leave you thinking.

Do you know what i love about house music? It gives you the chance to let go completely, the music moves you and your body moves to the will of the rhythm. Whether its deep, minimal, techno or soulful...it's bound to get you moving.

Here's a few of my faves...

Lana Del Rey - Blue Jeans MK Dub

The Martinez Brothers - Too much for me

Cozzy D - Aphrodite

Huxley - Box Clever

Maya Jane Coles - What they say

Ooft! - Yeah (Jay Shepheard remix)

Kim Ann Foxman - Creature

Julio Bashmore - Au Seve

H&M, Primark, Charity shop haul....

Now this is going to be my last ever haul for a while seeing as I've put myself on a shopping ban (let's hope i can cope...i know i won't!)

1. Black Luigi handbag, £8, Charity shop
I know we're only in February but this has got to be my best buy of the year! One of my favourite charity shops has got to be All Aboard on West End Lane in Hampstead. I thought i'd pop in and have a browse and this handbag caught my eye! It had a £15 price tag on it but the lovely lady sold it to me for £8! I've been wearing it ever since, get's me quite a few compliments aswell, everyone seems to think it's either from Topshop or Zara! The wonders of a charty shop ay!

2. Pearl gold rimmed earrings, £2, Primark
Nowadays i hardly wear studs because i live in my cross earrings! But these oversized pearl studs are gorgeous!
3. Bowler hat, £7.99, H&M
This is now my second bowler hat from H&M, my first one was abit small so i was happy when i came aross this one! Can't wait to wear it! This sold out really quickly, it's not even on the website!
4. Finger bracelet, £1.50, Primark
Bargain or what!

Oh how I love working at H&M, I've been after a fur jacket for a while now and I think I've just found the perfect one! It was originally £70 but my lovely manager sold it to me at £35 plusss with my staff discount I only paid £26.25. KER-CHING! Would have preferred if the sleeves weren't 3/4 length but who am i to complain? ha!
6. Chiffon sleeve top, £8, Primark
I've moved from burgundy coloured clothing to grey now, loving the speckled grey look at the moment. I'm contemplating removing the pearl/gold detail on he neckline coz I'm more of a simple girl!
7. Salmon oversized blouse, £5, Charity shop
This is another buy from All Aboard, they had a £5 rail and I just wanted to buy everything! Now this actually a size 16 but it looks lovely oversized. I might even pair it with a crochet white collar seeing as it's currently collarless.

As you should all know i'm a lover of the midi dress! I was stuck between the green and the burgundy! I've kept the tag on for now, still thinking if I should swap it for the Asos one which has more of a low scoop neck.
9. Oversized blazer, £7, Primark
I was so in love with this grey speckled blazer that I don't even know the original selling price. All I saw was £7 looking back at me LOL. Wore this to work the other and a customer asked me if it was from Topshop!
This was on my previous payday wishlist and now it's in my wardrobe! Got this is in a small but it still quite big. Strange.

Finally I own a pair of creepers! WOOHOO! I originally wanted the double platform creepers from eBay but weren't sure on the sizing. Ended up getting a size 5 in these coz the 6 was way to big! They're so comfy!
12. Grey midi skirt, £7, Primark
As well as being a lover of the midi dress I'm also a midi skirt fiend. This is quite a popular skirt and I've seen a few fashion bloggers with it aswell. Love it!
13. Lace midi skirt, £3, Primark
Isn't this lush! It originally said £12 on the label, I didn't even know it was on sale so I was chuffed when it went through as £3. WOW!

Oopsy daisy

So I haven't been blogging as much as I should. Sorry guys! I've just been so caught up with my university final year project, my health AND work! I just don't have time for myself anymore. But it's Sunday today which means my day of rest! (well until i have to go to my meeting at work later)....so guess what that means....ill be blogging away until my fingers have had enough.

Oh yeah, from today I have put myself on a shopping ban for a month. I've realised I've been spending unnecessary amounts of money on clothes that I don't need and that just sit in my wardrobe and catch dust. So it's time for me resist temptation and it's gonna be very difficult considering I do work in H&M which is like my favourite shop ever!

Another thing, I've been looking at a few crash diets and ways to lose weight. I've been wanting to try the maple syrup diet but I know it's not good for my health, my friend told me to try the insanity workout but I've decided to go along with the 30-day shred instead. Ive heard good things about it so I hop e it works...along with that I'll be purchasing some green tea. So I'll let you guys know if any of these work.

#Payday Wishlist

So I got paid today and I thought I'd share a few items I've had on my wishlist so far this month:-)

1. Platform chelsea boots, £90, Topshop

I'm currently in love with the whole wooden platform effect and I absolutely need these boots in my life right now! The only thing is, I'm a bargain hunter, can I really spend £90 on a pair of shoes?!...but i neeeed them. Or should I say want them.

2. Celine Paris short sleeve t-shirt, £7.49, eBay

Another eBay bargain I came across.Would look lush tucked into my black midi skirt!

3. Grid cross treggings, £25, Topshop

Topshop has so many lush leggings in store at the moment. I've never been a fan of printed leggings, I always go for the plain black look BUT these treggings caught my eye in an istance!

4. Ankh collar, £20, Topshop

I defo need this to add to my ankh collection. I own an ankh ring, an ankh chain, oversized black ankh earrings and I did have another pair but I lost one :-(

5. Fur collar tweed coat, £50, Motel

I have so many coats/jackets with fur collars but it wouldn't hurt to have just one more...would it?

My eBay dungarees

So a few days ago I won an item on eBay. Lovely dungarees originally from M&S. Luckily i managed to bag the item at the last minute (sorry to the other bidder. Ha!...)  I spend hours on end on eBay looking for a good ole bargain and I managed to pay just £3.20 for my new dungarees. It's quite big for me so I might get my mum to take it in just a little.

Wearing my new dungarees with my £3 Primark Floral shirt. Outfit total = £6.20 KER-CHING

My TOP 3 dungarees right now!

1. Acid Wash Aztec dungarees, River Island, £45

Its all about the Pinafore..

I don't know about you but one of the first things I do every morning is check my emails. Today I came across an email from UNiDAYS promoting 20% off at Miss Selfridge....next to it was a lush mid wash denim pinafore dress (definitely on my payday wishlist)..

It's slightly strange that as a 21-year-old I'm lusting over something I wore in primary school! But then again, everything is coming back into fashion...next thing you know it'll be the trousers with the chinese writing, or the skirt-over-trousers trend.

Wanna buy a pinafore but not quite sure how to rock it? Here's a few ideas (remember guys it's all about the layering)

1.
Now this look has Alexa Chung written all over it! Inspired by the school uniform look but much much more cooler. You can always pop on an aran cardigan to finish off the look.

The £10 coat

I thought I'd never lay eyes on this coat again but I guess it was just meant to be...

I've had my eye on this coat for quite a while now and was over the moon when it had gone down in the H&M sale from £40 to £20. As soon as I saw the burgundy colour and the black fur I just had to have this statement jacket in my wardrobe. I was contemplating whether I should get it or not seeing as I already own a burgundy coat...but a girl can never own too many clothes ay!

My store didn't have my size so I hunted high and low in every other H&M and unfortunately it was sold out. Which was likely seeing as it was a bargain! Now all this happened before Christmas..a fortnight later I was reunited with the beautiful garment. Yes. Right in front of me was my dream jacket...but it was a size 12 (I'm usually a size 10)..despite the size I refused to let this jacket get out of my reach once again. To my surprise it had gone down to a tenner...yes £10!!!!!!! Can you believe it!..and with my staff discount I only paid £7.50. Well what can I say, it was definitely worth the wait! As the saying goes "if it's meant to be then it'll come back to you" haha xx

It was £15, went down to £1.50 and with my student discount I only paid £1.35. How could I not get it?

My eBay finds...

eBay has got to be my guilty pleasure!  I used to spend hours on end bidding and picking up bargains after bargains. I was known as the eBay addict! Thankfully, I've calmed down..I was spending too much! Nowadays, I find myself adding items to my watchlist but never actually buy half the things.

I always find myself searching for vintage shirts, oversized jumpers, granny cardigans and the occasional jewellery. Have a look at what's in my watchlist...

What's on my playlist?

High Street Haul: H&M, Primark, Republic

I'm going to start doing regular haul posts to show you guys what I have been spending my money on, now I should have done this post last month as the majority of these items were purchased in November/December. I know we're only 9 days into 2013 but surprisingly, I've only bought TWO things this year!

Leopard print scarf, H&M, £7.99 £5

I'm not really a fan of leopard print but I found this print to be subtle and it just caught my eye. Luckily, I work in H&M so I get discount, so technically I got this lovely scarf for £3.75...bargain! The first time I wore it I was in all black everything, and I decided to add this scarf to my outfit for a hint of colour. Not to mention, it's rather warm!

Beige Pocket Shirt, H&M, £14.99 £7

To be honest, I only bought this shirt because it was in the sale! I've still let the tag on cos i'm not 100% sure if i like it. I'm a massive shirt wearer and I don't own one in this colour so it would be nice to add to my collection. I love the oversized look it as but i'm just not keen on the length of it (I'm used to long shirts!)

Cross Earrings, Primark, £3

Now these are my 3rd pair of cross earrings, but my 1st pair of MASSIVE cross earrings. They stand out and compliment my outfit. I love them! I try not to wear them to often as they are quite heavy!

Oversized Ankh Earrings, Republic, £8 £2

I bought these whilst I was with my mum, she wanted them aswell but didn't buy them and now she regrets it. Ha! I used to own a small gold pair of Ankh earrings from Topshop but somehow I lost one. I've been after another pair for ages which is why I was over the moon when I saw these. It said they were half price so I was expecting to pay £4 but when I got to the till, they were ONLY £2. I never realised how nice Republic jewellery actually was, I'll definitely be paying them another visit soon.

Oversized Olive Jumper (mens), Primark, £12

One day I was standing in the queue and a fashionable, vintage loving young man (who looked like he came straight out of Brick Lane) had the two most lovely jumpers in his hand. I didn't want to leave the queue so I made it my duty to return to Primark the next day to purchase the jumper. I wasn't sure whether to get the oatmeal, olive or burgundy color. I have so many burgundy clothing so that was out of the question. I decided to get the olive colour in a large as it was the only size left! Considering it is a mens large, it's not massively huge like I thought it would be. In fact, it's the perfect size for an oversized jumper. I literally live in it, it looks gorgeous when I pop a white shirt underneath.

Mint Green Jumper, H&M, £19.99

I fell in love with this jumper as soon as i saw it but now i'm not so keen. I've left the tag on as I have up until 31st Jan to make up my mind. I wish I got the grey coloured jumper instead as it would have gone together with more outfits than the mint green. So for now it is just sitting in my wardrobe waiting for it to be worn. P.S..it's gone down in the sale in store for a tenner and £12 online; V-Neck Knitted Jumper

Fur Collared Oversized Coatt, Primark, £35 £20

This has definitely got to be my best buy out of all my items! My new favourite jacket. I still can't believe it's from Primark, I love the navy checked pattern, I love the black fur and I love the leather panels on it! Although it feels thin it is actually quite warm, I originally wanted this Coat in a size 10 but there was none left so I opted for the size 12.

Cream Cable Knit Cardigan, H&M, £19.99, £10

I used to own a similar cardigan to this in an oatmeal colour. Until one day it shrunk in the wash and came out the the clothes in the maltesers advert. R.I.P Cardi. I wonder if I'd be able to dye this cardigan! Looks lovely paired with my high waist vintage shorts and my tan ankle brogue boots.

Nautical Striped Top, H&M, £12.99, £7

I've been after a nautical themed top for quite a while so was happy when I found this lovely top in the sale. The sizes are a bit funny, I bought a small but it looks like a large! Strange huh?!

Black/Gold Chain Print Shirt, Primark, £12, £5

Now this has got to be my second best bargain. A FIVER!?! I bought this shirt in a size 20 (I love the oversized look and hardly ever seem to wear my size) I paired it with my wet look leggings and my patent DMs and it looked absolutely lush! Plus, the back has a slit in it. Oh, it's just gorgeous!

Black/White Skull Print Scarf, Primark, £3

Why break the bank on a Vivienne Westwood Skull Scarf when you can get this beauty for just £3. Looks lush paired with a leather jacket.

Tweed Blazer, H&M, £29.99 £15

I've been after a tweed blazer for a while now and lukily this was the last one in the shop! I never really go for the smarter look but I guess you can always dress this blazer down. I bought it in a size 10, although if a size 12/14 was available I would have got that instead....as you should know by now, i love my clothes oversized. Along with my staff discount, I got this beauty for £11.25...KERCHING!

Other items bought: H&M gold studded black ankle boots, H&M black turtle neck, Primark tan brogue ankle boots.

Primark SS13: My pick of the pieces...

I always find myself browsing through the high street look book planning my wishlist for what I'm gonna splash out on when payday eventually arrives. I've noticed I prefer the autumn/winter looks rather than the spring/summer trend, maybe that's because I love to cover up.

I've been shopping in Primark for years, it's the place to go when you need a few essentials and it's the place to go when you're on a budget. Many people often turn their noses down at Primark and I just don't understand why. After doing a clothes clearout the other day, I realised how many of my items are actually from Primark! I love me a bargain, and I love my vintage oversized shirts which I brought for only a fiver..nobody ever believes me when I tell them where they're from!

I had a peek at Primark's SS13 lookbook and here's a few pieces that stood out for me. P.S. I would have put the prices but not all of them were available
